This past week, our h\u0101pori (community) has shown incredible heart and compassion with the passing of one of our wh\u0101nau members, Stephanie Greer.<\/strong> The aroha (love) and support that has poured in for her children Andre, Ava and their wh\u0101nau<\/strong> has been a powerful reminder of our school uara (values) of whanaungatanga and manaakitanga in action. As you can see above, there was a beautiful send off for her on Tuesday. For those who have asked about making a koha (contribution) to help out with things, Stephanie’s brother, Jason Taiaroa has set up an account for them here: 03-0426-0004121-04. Production Day is HERE! <\/strong>We can\u2019t wait to share this with you all tonight. Hopefully you are well-read in \u2018the goings on\u2019 with this today. On Wednesday, Dani sent out a detailed Hero post which outlined many of the logistics of the day\/afternoon\/evening. Please remember that we are not returning to school this afternoon.<\/strong> All students will remain at the Speirs Centre at Boys High for both evening performances at 4:30pm and 6pm.<\/strong> Then you can collect them from the stage just after the second show ends at approx 7pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s lamb season and huge mihi (thanks) to the Ponsford wh\u0101nau<\/strong> for letting some of our tamariki experience rural life by feeding these cuties as you can see. Freddie and Niko got a taste of how to care for Harvey and Lincoln\u2019s lambs on Wednesday. Julie has previously sent out information in a Hero post dated 27th August about our upcoming Lamb, Calf and Pet Evening<\/strong> which is happening next term on Friday 17th October. <\/strong>Please look into this if your wh\u0101nau would like to bring your animal to be part of this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you to those who voted in our Board of Trustees election<\/strong> which closed on Wednesday. We will let you all know the result of this by next Tuesday 16th September. <\/strong>Arohamai (sorry) for forgetting to inform you last Monday that we had a Massey Teacher, Matt Killsby-Halliday,<\/strong> start with us in R\u0101t\u0101, learning alongside Carly and our \u0101konga (learners) in there. He will be with us for the next 5 weeks on placement. He brings strengths in the performing arts space, so he has been put to good use already!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next week is Te Wiki o Te Reo M\u0101ori <\/strong>and we will be celebrating this in much the same way that we did for Maths Week, where each day there will be different kaupapa (topic) from feelings to positive affirmations, colours to verbs. We will give out \u2018M\u012bharo\u2019 (Amazing) tickets to \u0101konga who put to use this daily Te Reo theme. We encourage you to join in at home or in your workplace with the 50 wero<\/a> (challenges) that ReoM\u0101ori.co.nz<\/strong> has put out, since this year marks 50 years since its inception. We also have Cluster Kapa Haka\/Ki-o-Rahi<\/strong> for our tuakana (seniors) next Thursday<\/strong> at Linton Camp School, as well at Ng\u0101 Taonga T\u0101karo<\/strong> (Traditional M\u0101ori Games) for our whole kura next Friday<\/strong> from 11am. Parents\/Wh\u0101nau are more than welcome to be part of this. Nau mai haere mai (Come along)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
