We couldn\u2019t have asked for better weather this week! Check out the amazing photo of the sunset that Trish took after school on Wednesday\u2026 Just gorgeous! It set the stage for an awesome day today and there\u2019s nothing quite like a rural Cross Country<\/strong> when the sun is shining and the air is crisp. Ng\u0101 mihi (Thanks) to Julie, Meryl, and Tim<\/strong> for all of their mahi (work) behind the scenes to make this event such a success. A huge thank you also to the parents\/wh\u0101nau who stepped up to marshal or helped us pack down at the end. We loved seeing such a fantastic turnout, thank you all for coming along to tautoko (support) your tamariki!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The results of the day can be found here<\/a>. All \u0101konga (students) who placed 1st – 5th are eligible to take part in Cluster Cross Country on Thursday 4th June<\/strong> (Week 7) at Stewarts Farm in Tokomaru. Please let us know if they do not want to compete, so we can ask the next placegetter. Our Year 5\/6 top 5 are also able to take part in the Palmerston North Interschool<\/strong> event, which is the very next day at the Ashhurst Domain on Friday 5th June<\/strong>. Keep an eye on Hero Events for more details on these.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have a small but mighty group of Year 3-6 tamariki taking the stage this Sunday morning for the Wh\u0101nau Success Day at West End School<\/strong>. The day is a collaboration event run by Kia Ora FM<\/a> and Ora Konnect. They will be on stage performing at 10.35am – 10.55am<\/strong>, so will need to come in their full Turitea Uniform to meet me at the school entrance on Botanical Road at 10am.<\/strong> You can collect them from Room 14 after they have performed. Please let me know when you have taken your child. Hope to see you all there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Staff Only Day Next Friday:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please ensure our Staff Only Day <\/strong>is on your calendar for next Friday 29th May,<\/strong> as school will be closed for instruction. <\/strong>Our entire staff are engaging in a day of learning with child protection training from the NZ Police, growing our PB4L understanding and alignment across the kura and have a sensory processing workshop with an occupational therapist from the Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turitea School Merch:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you to those who placed merch orders last week, we had just over 70 orders, which is so cool! These are off with the printers now and we hope to have them back to you to start \u2018rocking\u2019 in the first week of June. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
